A look back at a successful year
The end of a year is always a great time for reflection. In this blog, Cedric Eraly, Sales Executive at Mendify, looks back on some of the highlights that 2023 brought Mendify. He also briefly looks ahead to the new year and shares his hopes and wishes.
Mendify Ignite 2023. A grandiose debut
This September, the very first edition of our partner event Mendify Ignite took place at the famous Duvel Moortgat brewery in Breendonk. And what a success it was! Both existing customers and other interested parties were inspired by real-life stories from Proximus, Van Marcke and Indaver, among others. This allowed participants to learn from other organizations how they overcame certain challenges by embracing Mendix and partnering with Mendify. Mendix itself had also sent a substantial delegation and led an engaging panel discussion. In addition, a hands-on session allowed participants to see how easy it is to work with Mendix. The event was such a hit that we decided to make it return annually. So keep an eye on our socials if you don’t want to miss Mendify Ignite 2024, the partner event for the digital future.
Strong together: team events that connect
As a consulting firm, our employees spend much of their time with clients, so it’s not always easy to see each other regularly. Therefore, we organize several team events every year to strengthen ties. We started 2023 well with our annual ski trip to Austria, a tradition much loved by all colleagues. It is not only a chance to make beautiful runs and enjoy the snowy peaks, but also provides us with a valuable team-building experience. After the ski trip, our next team event was scheduled for April: Battlekart. As you drive an electric kart through an interactive game world, you can earn and deploy bonuses to beat your colleagues. Such a technological marvel is, of course, right up our alley.
In early September, the Belgian team moved from the too-cramped office in Merelbeke to a new and spacious office in Destelbergen. We inaugurated this new venue with a fun barbecue and quiz. We added a summer retreat in Cadzand to our list of team events. During this outing, we not only got a chance to brainstorm about our business operations, but also were introduced to Lacrosse – also known among Indians as “little brother of war” – and held a challenging XXL-Sup-challenge. This retreat gave us the opportunity to work on our team cohesion in a relaxed manner and gain new energy for the challenges ahead.
Finally, we went indoor skiing early this month as a warm-up for the ski trip that is, of course, coming up again.
Health and wellness
This year, we also participated in FitBonus, a personal coaching program provided by the Flemish government. It is a great way to contribute to the health of our colleagues physically, mentally and socially. We all participated in the biological age test, where we had our physical fitness screened and our biological age measured. During the course, we also participated in walking and running events, sponsored by FitBonus, to live healthier lives and encourage each other.
Growth and collaboration
We are proud of the growth we have experienced as an organization this year. We welcomed a number of new clients and new colleagues, including Lieven, Fangio, Sam, Falco, Bart, Milan and Sung. Our in-house Mendify Academy helped both new employees and customers quickly become familiar with the Mendix platform, so everyone was quickly up-to-speed.
