The power of low-code. Fast switching
Minh-Duc Bui, began his career as a developer at Mendify late last year. In this blog, he shares his experience with the intuitive and easy-to-use Mendix low-code platform. He is living proof of how people without a technical background can be successful in low-code projects. He also talks about how low-code development enables you to move quickly and effectively in an increasingly digital world.
Developing with low-code is intuitive and easy to use
You could already read it in our previous blog: I do not originally have an IT background. With my bachelor’s degree in electromechanics, I have held a variety of positions from sales engineer to project coordinator. I joined Mendify in November last year and am already rotating in IT projects. Of course I still have a lot to learn, but it shows that even people without a technical background can work well with low-code. Low-code is much easier to learn than programming with traditional programming languages such as Java, C++, and C#. In the Mendix platform, building applications is based on the use of visual function blocks that you can move and assemble to create the desired application. This makes developing applications with Mendix an intuitive and user-friendly process.
Include the principal
Thanks to the visual nature of Mendix, you can also very easily show a product owner how an application works and how it is built. The visual aspect allows them to actively contribute ideas and suggestions. This allows you to communicate very effectively and move nice and fast. By bridging the gap between programmers and customers in this way, the development process is seamless and you can better meet customer needs.
Low-code in practice: Van Marcke
Van Marcke, an international wholesaler of bathrooms, heating systems, plumbing and installation materials, wanted to simplify its IT landscape and was looking for a solution to the many customizations required when migrating to SAP S4HANA. We were able to make this project a success together with Van Marcke. But it didn’t stop there. Van Marcke then partnered with us to build its own competency team. This makes you less dependent as an organization on an outside vendor. Now the in-house staff – with support from Mendify’s team – can make any changes themselves at no extra cost and even develop additional low-code apps. This provides not only cost savings, but also flexibility.

Wondering if your organization can also fully embrace agile working with Mendix’s low-code platform? Challenge us with a case study. Provide us with an idea and we will make it concrete based on a one-day mini-project in which we play the “game” as it works in a real agile development project. This app-in-a-day experience is guaranteed to convince you of the possibilities.
