In an earlier blog, we looked at reusable low-code components from the Mendix Public Marketplace. But you can also build your own reusable components that you store in Mendix’s Private Marketplace. As Mendify, we like to share our experience and turn challenges into solutions that add immediate value for our clients. Nice examples are our own implementation accelerators. Process- and industry-related solutions that allow us to develop an application in a very short time.

Reusable building blocks

Mendix’s low-code platform offers many advantages. One is that you have access to many reusable building blocks which means you don’t have to keep reinventing the wheel. This reduces development time, ensures consistency and makes your software easier to maintain. In addition to building blocks from Mendix itself, you can of course create your own building blocks, which you can reuse. Among other things, we created a reusable scanning solution, a graphical planning board, a portal solution and a quotation manager for clients.

1. Scan solution

Warehouse workers often work with scanners. To ensure their efficiency, we developed a scanning solution. Regardless of a customer’s specific needs, the reusability of such a module means you can integrate it into their software very quickly. Whether it’s a commodity producer, a waste processor, a technical wholesaler or any other type of organization and whether it’s integration with SAP, an inventory management package or your WMS solution. A new scanning device? A matter of extending the module once and from then on the functionality is reusable for any application.

2. Graphic planning board

The old-fashioned planning boards we know from the factory lend themselves ideally to digitization. Unfortunately, the extensive Mendix Public Marketplace has no drag-and-drop functionality. So we built this component so that factory employees can change their schedules very easily, with drag and drop.

3. Portal solution

A customer-supplier portal connects customers and suppliers and enables them to communicate and collaborate easily. This can add value to improving custom engagement because it allows customers to quickly and easily access the information they need, such as order details, delivery status and billing information. In this regard, the login process is very important; after all, you need to be able to safely deal with a large group of customers. We have developed a special safety layer for that.

4. Offer Manager

Creating quotes can be very time-consuming, especially if you have to build your quote from scratch in Excel or Word over and over again. With our quotation module, quotation generation becomes a lot easier – and faster. The master data simply comes from your ERP or CRM package. Then you make a quotation very quickly and easily, on mobile, tablet or in a web portal.
