The people behind Mendify: Brent, Cedric, David, Fangio and Jan
At Mendify, we specialize in designing, developing and implementing software based on Mendix’s low-code platform. Day in and day out, we help our clients take the right steps in digital transformation. We now do this with a sizeable club of people, spread across our branches in Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania. Beautiful people who make sure the well-oiled machine that is Mendify stays well-oiled. In a number of blogs, we would like to take a moment to highlight our colleagues. In this blog, the turn of Brent, Cedric, David, Fangio and Jan.
Brent Dalemans, the Detail Detective
Brent is not only an enthusiastic athlete, he has a keen eye for detail and focus. After studying Business Management with a specialization in Sports Management in Bruges, he did not feel ready for the job market. When he pocketed a Master’s degree in Commercial Science – specializing in Business Information Management – three years later, he was. He joined Mendify in September 2021, as a Mendix Developer.
Brent: “Within the Mendix platform, I mainly focus on the UI aspect of the applications we develop. It is important that an app works fine, although the eye wants something too of course. My unique contribution to the Mendify team? I have an enormous eye for detail. Everything has to be one hundred percent correct. These are also the customer’s expectations when it comes to UI. I also find a healthy dose of humor in the workplace very important. It makes the work light-hearted and more enjoyable. If you’re looking for me on the weekends, I’m probably busy playing soccer. Sports are still in it!
Cedric Eraly, Team Spirit
Cedric has a Master’s degree in Commercial Science and previously worked as a Business Analyst at an insurance company.
Cedric: “When Mendix low-code crossed my path I was immediately sold! Making business and IT work together faster and better, and that while also being able to develop myself. Thanks to my economic background and experience as a Business Analyst, I help organizations map out and deliver their projects in the best possible way. I enjoy organizing team building events, because the atmosphere within our team is great! In my spare time I play competitive tennis, furthermore I am also passionate about soccer and music. As a winter sports fanatic, our annual Mendify ski trip is for me the best teambuilding event of the year.’
David Verstricht, The Solver
David Verstricht worked in a manufacturing company in the food industry from 2001 to 2017. He then decided to pursue a full-time degree in programming.
David: “In 2019, I started as an Advanced Mendix Developer at Mendify. I deal with internal training programs and supervise and coach colleagues. I rarely see problems, but a lot of solutions.’
Fangio Doom, The IT Centipede
Fangio always had a passion for IT. Fangio holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Computer Science. He started as an IT consultant at Addestino in 2019 and worked as a Project Manager and Business Analyst at Telenet Business, and as a Full-Stack Developer at the Flemish Government. Since January of this year, Fangio has been working at Mendify as a Mendix Developer.
Says Fangio, “At Mendify, the best of both worlds come together: business and development. I possess the key skills of a consultant: project management, communication and the ability to work well independently. In addition to my professional qualities, I am also quite a social animal, which definitely comes in handy on the team at Mendify. The atmosphere here is very good, everyone helps each other, but we also like to have a nice chat with each other. When I’m not working, I exercise – I play (mini)soccer, badminton, cycling and darts – or meet up with friends to socialize over a snack and a drink.
Jan Ickroth, Captain Mendify
Jan is co-founder of Mendify. He has a background in economics and as a structural engineer.
Jan: “I’ve been in the IT world for 38 years! I have never enjoyed it more than since the introduction of low-code. I see my main contribution primarily as leadership and at the same time as ‘being there’ to keep everyone involved, make them part of Mendify’s success and encourage personal growth.
